I’ve been thinking about assembling playlists as an editorial process, and an attempt to turn interactive, lean-forward, web video in to more traditional, lean-back, TV experience. I’ve made a number of these ‘An Evening of TV’ playlists recently, each designed to be several hours of programmed viewing.
During the residency I have been collecting references and ideas in to a special Evening of TV playlist for the Digital Media Labs residency at Octopus in Barrow-in-Furness:
The process of finding and assembling the videos reflects the ways in which ideas develop and layer in conversational spaces like the residency.
